CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — In light of continuing COVID-19 risks, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is canceling all university-sponsored international spring break programs and all university-sponsored domestic student spring break programs that require air travel.
University-sponsored programs are those that are affiliated with a course, financially supported by the university or chaperoned by university faculty members or staff. University administrators will determine whether domestic spring break programs that do not require air travel will proceed as planned.
The university will work with departments and individuals to address any academic or financial implications that may arise because of these cancellations.
Registered Student Organizations are independent organizations, separate from the university. The adviser for each RSO will decide whether to cancel the organization’s domestic spring break programs.
At this time, there are no cases of COVID-19 in the Champaign-Urbana community. The university is working closely with state and local health officials to implement precautions as appropriate.
Ongoing updates regarding the university’s efforts will be posted to the website https://covid19.illinois.edu/.
