Fulmer previously served as the associate dean for academic affairs and director of the Ph.D. program in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers. She also serves on the board of governors of the Academy of Management and as international co-chairperson of the European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management annual workshop on strategic human resource management.
She is on the editorial boards of several academic journals. In her “first career,” prior to completing her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University and entering academia, she worked as a CPA and consultant.
Fulmer’s research and teaching are in the areas of human resource management and organizational behavior. Current research interests include compensation system design, pay communication and transparency, valuation of organizational human capital and management of former employees. Her research has been published in a number of journals and edited volumes.
Fulmer succeeds Fritz Drasgow as LER dean. A member of the Illinois faculty since 1982 and a professor of labor and employment relations, Drasgow was appointed interim dean in 2013 and dean in 2014.
