The Illinois Fire Service Institute will host the 94th Annual Fire College on June 7-10 in Champaign. The event will bring together more than 400 first responders from across the state and country to experience in-depth, hands-on training.
Participants can choose from 22 course options, with opportunities for classroom and live fire training. Fire College students will be guided through the program by a team of IFSI instructors, most of whom are highly accomplished professionals.
Cast members from the NBC drama “Chicago Fire” will be on theIFSI training grounds on the southwest side of campus on the weekend. Actors David Eigenberg and Tony Ferraris will complete training alongside IFSI students enrolled in the live fire courses.
IFSI is the statutory state fire academy for Illinois. It serves as the oldest continuous fire training institution in the United States. Since 1925, first responders from across the state and throughout the world have relied on IFSI to deliver top-quality training, education and research.
