Jennifer Kee Anderson, 36, of Champaign, died April 2. She was a member of the University of Illinois Wind Symphony, performing at Carnegie Hall in 2005. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. A service celebrating her life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 203 Church St., Royal, Illinois. Memorials: Lustgarten Foundation.
Joel M. Dexter, 61, of rural Schapville, Illinois, died March 30 in rural Scales Mound, Illinois. He was a scientific photographer for the Illinois State Geological Survey from 1988-2008 and served as a photographer and assistant to the director of the Prairie Research Institute at Illinois from 2012-16.
William H. “Doc” Pirkle, 83, of Champaign, died April 6 at his home. He began working as a professor of chemistry at the university in 1964. Memorials: Champaign Parks Foundationor United Way of Champaign County.
Pola Fotitch Triandis, 87, of Carlsbad, California, died March 20. She joined the Office of Continuing Education in International Affairs at the university in 1966, first as a research assistant and later as the associate head. She retired after serving the university for more than 30 years. A lecture and reception in her honor will be held at Spurlock Museum of World Cultures in Urbana May 6 at 3 p.m.
