CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Four finalists for the role of vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost will make presentations on campus in the coming weeks, Chancellor Robert Jones announced today. Listed in the order of their presentation dates, the candidates are:
Sonny Ramaswamy, the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture at the United States Department of Agriculture; Sept. 19, Levis Faculty Center, 919 W. Illinois St., Urbana, third floor, 4 p.m.
Andreas Cangellaris, the dean of the College of Engineering at Illinois; Sept. 21, Knight Auditorium, Spurlock Museum, 600 S. Gregory St., Urbana, 4 p.m.
Chaden Djalali, the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa; Sept. 28, Knight Auditorium, Spurlock Museum, 4 p.m.
Joan Ferrini-Mundy, the chief operating officer for the National Science Foundation; Oct. 11, Knight Auditorium, Spurlock Museum, 4 p.m.
“The individual selected for this position will hold an important and unique leadership role on our campus,” Jones said, inviting members of the campus community to attend the candidate presentations and offer feedback to the human resources office.
John Wilkin has served as the interim vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost since Feb. 18, following Edward Feser’s departure from the interim leadership role to take a job with Oregon State University.
