CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois.edu, the home page for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will have a different look for a few hours. In honor of the campus’s 150th birthday and leveraging the playful tendencies associated with April Fools’ Day, an alternative version of the website – featuring themes that perhaps were relevant in 1867 – will be live from midnight today through noon Saturday.
Users seeking the site’s full collection of information and resources will be able to follow a redirect to the permanent site throughout Saturday morning.
Editor’s note: Founded in 1867 as a land grant institution, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is both celebrating 150 years of transformative experiences and heralding an ambitious vision for the future through learning, discovery and public engagement.
