  • Paper: STEM skills gap modest among IT help desk workers

    The incidence of prolonged hiring difficulties for information technology help desk workers, one of the largest computer occupations in the U.S., is modest, with only 11%-15% of IT help desks showing vacancy patterns that might be consistent with persistent hiring frictions, according to new research from Andrew Weaver, a professor of labor and employment relations at Illinois.
