Dr. Richard Isaacson and Max Lugavere will discuss “The Role of Nutrition in the Management of Alzheimer’s Disease” at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 in the auditorium of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology.
Isaacson is the director of the Alzheimer’s Prevention Clinic at Weill Cornell Medical College and the author of “The Alzheimer’s Diet: A Step-by-Step Nutritional Approach for Memory Loss Prevention and Treatment” (Volume 1) and “The Alzheimer’s Prevention and Treatment Diet.” His research focuses on the impact of multimodal behavioral and nutritional modifications in Alzheimer’s disease management.
Lugavere is a 32-year-old independent documentary filmmaker and Isaacson’s patient. Lugavere’s mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in her 50s, and he is using his skills as a filmmaker to document how nutrition plays a critical part in staving off the disease.
The talk is free and open to the public.
