The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was ranked 11th among the top 50 public national universities by U.S.News & World Report in rankings released Aug. 19.
The UI College of Engineering was ranked fourth nationally among best undergraduate engineering programs (of doctorate-granting institutions) by U.S. News. The College of Business at Illinois was ranked 12th among best undergraduate business programs.
Within the engineering and business colleges, many undergraduate programs received high ratings.
In engineering: aerospace/aeronautical/astronomical (8), agricultural (3), chemical (8), civil (1), computer (5), electrical/electronic/communications (4), engineering science/engineering physics (4), environmental/environmental health (3), industrial/manufacturing (12), materials (2), mechanical (6).
In business: accounting (1), finance (13), insurance (5), management (8), marketing (14), quantitative analysis (11), real estate (5).
The magazine did not rank other disciplines.
