The UI College of Engineering achieved a No. 4 ranking in the latest edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools” released by U.S.News & World Report on March 31. Within the college, many programs fared well in the rankings, including aeronautical and astronautical engineering (8), chemical (8), civil (1), computer (4), electrical (4), environmental (2), materials (2), mechanical (6), nuclear (10).
Numerous other UI programs also garnered high rankings. The graduate program in psychology was ranked fifth nationally by the magazine. Specialties within psychology also ranked highly: cognitive psychology (6), developmental (8), experimental (4), industrial and organizational (5), social (10).
Within the 27th ranked College of Business, accounting was ranked fourth.
Within the College of Education (ranked 18th nationally), curriculum and instruction was ranked No. 7, educational psychology No. 4, elementary education No. 7, secondary education No. 8, special education No. 6, vocational and technical No. 6.
