CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois will be submitting a bid to the Illinois High School Association in an effort to bring championship games in three sports to campus. The bid seeks a five-year commitment from the IHSA for the events to be held at the UI.

The football games would be played at Memorial Stadium; wrestling and basketball would take place in Assembly Hall. The wrestling tournament has been on campus for 28 consecutive years.
The university has been working in conjunction with the Greater Champaign-Urbana Economic Partnership and the Champaign-Urbana Convention & Visitors Bureau to develop the bid.
