  • Study finds fungal disease of snakes in 19 states, Puerto Rico

    A new study finds a wide distribution of Ophidiomyces ophidiicola, a fungal pathogen that afflicts more than 30 species of snakes, including the timber rattlesnake, pictured. This emerging disease is sometimes fatal to snakes.
