Twelve faculty members were honored with the Provost’s Campus Distinguished Promotion Award for 2017.
During its annual promotion review process, the Campus Committee on Promotion and Tenure identifies scholars whose contributions have been extraordinary in terms of quality of work and overall achievement. Only two to four scholars at each level of tenured faculty promotion (associate professor and full professor) are selected to receive Campus Distinguished Promotion Awards. Each receives a discretionary fund to support their scholarly activities.
The 12 scholars receiving the 2017 award are: Francina Dominguez, atmospheric sciences; Nora El-Gohary, civil and environmental engineering; Randy Ewoldt, mechanical science and engineering; Prashant Jain, chemistry; Robert Pilawa-Podgurski, electrical and computer engineering; Sonali Shah, business administration; Daniel Shike, animal sciences; Diane Beck, psychology; Donna Buchanan, music; Timothy Fan, veterinary clinical medicine; Lilya Kaganovsky, comparative and world literature; and Brad Sutton, bioengineering.
