Ronald L. Miner, 64, of Champaign, died April 14 in Schaumburg, Illinois. He was the director of accounting consulting in the Office of Business and Financial Services, University Accounting and Financial Reporting for the University of Illinois System for 32 years. He helped with the accounting transition when Sangamon State University became the University of Illinois at Springfield. He was a key member of the Banner Finance implementation team. With his accounting knowledge and technical expertise, he streamlined numerous processes. As the leader of the Accounting Consulting Group, he assisted many units across the entire system in resolving complex accounting issues. Charles Edward Olson, 72, of Champaign, died April 14 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He served the university for more than 30 years, first in the Office of Admissions, then most significantly as an assistant dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. He was the director of the Jonathan Baldwin Turner scholarship program, which expanded under his leadership to provide scholarships to more than 1,500 students. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, at First United Methodist Church, Champaign. James H. Wyatt Sr., 83, of Urbana, died April 9 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana. He retired from the university as a custodian. Memorials: Harbor Light Hospice.
