  • Editor’s notes:

The Virtual Archaeology team also includes National Center for Supercomputing Applications research scientist Alan Craig; computer science professor emeritus Steven LaValle; computer science graduate student and project manager Cameron Merrill; education, policy, organization and leadership graduate student Danyin Janny Chen; and anthropology graduate student Jamie Arjona. Applied Technologies for Learning in the Arts and Sciences is creating a new VR classroom in the Foreign Languages building to support this effort. Jim Wentworth and Michel Bellini, of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, are helping to test the systems. Shackelford also is affiliated with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.

Students or others who are interested in helping test the system may contact Janny Chen. Students from across campus are encouraged to enroll in the Virtual Archaeology class in the spring 2019 semester.
