Louis Vincent DiBello, 75, of Bloomingdale, Illinois, died March 7. He started working at the university in 1969 as an assistant professor of mathematics, advancing to the position of senior research scientist in the Computer Based Education Research Lab. He worked as a visiting assistant professor of educational psychology until 1994. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. Paul Stanley Hursey, 86, of Urbana, died March 14. He worked as an affirmative action officer and a coordinator of labor relations for the university, retiring as a deputy director of personnel in 1994. Memorials: Don Moyers Boys & Girls Club, Champaign.
Jane Knop, 82, of Tuscola, Illinois, formerly of Tolono, Illinois, died March 19 at Tuscola Health Care, Tuscola. She retired from the university’s telecommunications department.
Eugene (Gene) Andrew Schum, 82, of Champaign, died March 21 at home. He worked at the university as a pipe fitter, retiring in 1996. Memorials: St. Matthew Catholic School.
