The Illinois School of Architecture’s Master of Architecture degree program is among DesignIntelligence Quarterly’s “Top 25 Programs 2016-17 According to Hiring Professionals.” The ranking of National Architectural Accrediting Board-accredited degree programs appears in DesignIntelligence’s third quarter 2016 issue. DesignIntelligence compiles the rankings from a survey of professional practitioners who hire and supervise graduates of architecture programs.
The program ranks tied for No. 25 in the nation, up from No. 33 a year ago. Among institutional peers – graduate architecture programs at public research universities that are members of the prestigious American Association of Universities – Illinois ranks tied for No. 7.
Illinois also fared well in DesignIntelligence’s annual student survey: Ninety-four percent of Illinois student respondents “believe they’ll be well prepared for their profession upon graduation.”
Among DesignIntelligence’s “25 Most Admired Educators for 2016-17” is Illinois alumnus David Miller, College of Fine and Applied Arts (Master of Architecture, 1972), a founding partner in The Miller Hull Partnership, a Seattle-based architectural design firm. Miller is an architecture faculty member in the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments.
