  • Fresh look at burials, mass graves, tells a new story of Cahokia

    Illinois State Archaeological Survey director Thomas Emerson, right, ISAS physical anthropologist Kristin Hedman, center, and ISAS skeletal analyst Eve Hargrave and their colleagues found that a famous “beaded burial” at the ancient city of Cahokia held both male and female remains, contrary to earlier reports.
