  • Inaugural festival celebrates intersections of music and sustainability

    HYBRID INSTRUMENTS
Ken Butler, a Brooklyn, New York-based artist who has been performing since 1978 on hybrid musical instruments created primarily from urban debris such as discarded tennis rackets, hockey sticks, umbrellas, axes, snow shovels, rakes and metal, will perform April 16 as part of the Sonified Sustainability Festival at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Butler’s “hybrid visions” will be on display April 14-May 1 at the Illini Union Art Gallery.
