A campus forum to discuss the search process for a permanent chancellor will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 11 at the Illini Union Ballroom.
The forum will be used to discuss the process and the responsibilities of the search advisory committee, as well as to seek advice from campus constituents on the type of leader they would like to see and specific issues that need to be addressed.
"This chancellor will be taking office on the eve of the 150th anniversary of our establishment as a land-grant institution," said Antoinette Burton, a professor of history and the chair of the chancellor's search committee. "The challenge will be to lead the campus into a vibrant future that draws on its core values – academic excellence, award-winning teaching, inclusion and diversity and innovation."
The forum will be live-streamed online. A link for the live stream will be available on the Illinois home page March 11. A website reflecting the search process is being prepared.
The firm Greenwood-Asher and Associates is assisting with the national search and will have representatives at the forum to answer questions.
