  • Trustees appoint Killeen as 20th university president

    The new guy President-elect Timothy L. Killeen took in his first board of trustees meeting as an official member of the U. of I. after trustees appointed him at their Jan. 15 meeting in Chicago. "I can now use the word 'we' in reference of Illinois," said Killeen, who still serves as vice chancellor of the Research Foundation of the State University of New York. Current U. of I. President Bob Easter retires later this year. Killeen's 30 percent U. of I. appointment has been spent working on the presidential transition.  Click photo to enlarge
