CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Robert Novak, a political commentator for CNN, will join four UI professors in a public discussion analyzing this year's presidential election.
"The Presidential Election 2000: Reflections and Observations" will be from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 14 in Lincoln Hall Theater, 702 S. Wright St., Urbana.
Novak, a UI alumnus, has been a journalist for more than 40 years, having worked for The Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Herald-Tribune. His column, "Inside Report," has appeared for a longer time than any other syndicated national column.
He and UI political science professors Scott Althaus, Ira Carmen, Brian Gaines and Peter Nardulli will discuss a number of topics, including the role of the media in the electorate's decision-making.
