CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Martial arts demonstrations are among the highlights of the annual fall open house at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Japan House on Oct. 25.
That day, Japan House - an educational and cultural center focusing on Japanese arts - will open its doors to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The facility is located at 2000 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana.
At 11 a.m., Illinois alumnus Greg Harvey will present a talk titled "Zen and Tea are One Taste." Beginning at 1 p.m., various groups from the Champaign-Urbana area will demonstrate and discuss their knowledge of Japanese martial arts.
Throughout the day, tea ceremony will be conducted by members of the
Urbana-Champaign Association of Chado Urasenke Tankokai.
