CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The official grand opening of the Siebel Center for Design on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus will take place Oct. 8 with a formal dedication at 1 p.m. Weather permitting, the celebration will begin on the east patio.
Located at 1208 S. Fourth St., Champaign, the center was established by a $25 million lead gift from the Thomas and Stacey Siebel Foundation. Thomas Siebel will speak at the event. Also on hand will be Chancellor Robert Jones, System President Tim Killeen, members of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees and Siebel Center for Design Director Rachel Switzky.
The event also will be livestreamed.
Light refreshments and tours will be available immediately following the dedication. The open house will continue until 5 p.m.
