The University YMCA, 1001 S. Wright St., Champaign, is launching its “Transforming Lives, Connecting Communities” campaign to support capital renovations to its historic building, programming support and strengthening of its endowment. The public is invited to the campaign kickoff Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Riggs Brewery, 1901 S. The University YMCA will announce that it has raised over $850,000, or more than 70 percent, of its overall campaign fundraising goal of $1.2 million. Riggs Brewery is a family friendly space and family members of any age are welcome. Food and beverages will be provided.

“The University YMCA serves our University of Illinois student community, as well as the Champaign-Urbana community in so many diverse ways. It is important for our community to rally around the University Y’s mission, programs, activities and students to continue igniting passions, power potential and brighten futures in and outside of our community,” said Cassie Carroll, the president of the University YMCA Board of Governors.
