Year of Cyberinfrastructure Roadshow focuses on research Feb. 26

John Towns, the deputy chief information officer for research IT, will discuss how to make research better from 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 in the National Center for Supercomputing Applications Building, Room 1122.

Last year, U. of I. researchers told committee members for the Year of Cyberinfrastructure what technologies and services they need. The committee is sharing its findings at several roadshows around campus.

At this Cyberinfrastructure Roadshow, Towns will outline upcoming actions and the impact on the U. of I. Learn how the campus plans to provide researchers with essential tools and services to improve research.

More dates and locations for Cyberinfrastructure Roadshows can be found online. Key discussion points include:

  • Increasing communications around campus regarding available services
  • Enhancing training opportunities for faculty and staff
  • Providing necessary infrastructure for innovation

Faculty and IT professionals are encouraged to attend. Familiarity with the Year of Cyberinfrastructure final report is helpful but not necessary to participate.
