Anthony Frank Graziano, 78, died July 25 at his home in Wayzata, Minnesota. He was a research associate in the department of mining, metallurgy and petroleum engineering in the College of Engineering for 38 years, retiring in 1999. Kevin “Chip” L. Grice, 57, died July 23 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Grice retired after 31 years of service with the U. of I. Dillon Mapother, 93, died July 22 at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur. He was a U. of I. professor of physics for 45 years, also serving as the vice chancellor for research. He retired in 1994.
Fernand Lucien Marty, 95, died July 17 in Surprise, Arizona. Marty was a professor of French and of computer-based education. Helen Louise Suddes Pomakoy, 75 died June 15 at the Capital Caring Hospice Center in Aldie, Virginia. She worked at the U. of I. for 15 years, retiring in 1987 as a food service administrator at the Illini Union. Mary Ravenhall, 85, died July 12 at her Urbana home. She was an instructor at the U. of I. library from 1961-68. She returned to the U. of I. in 1985 to head the City Planning and Landscape Architecture Library and retired from the university in 1994.
