Sun up A crane removes the Sun Singer sculpture from its pedestal on June 15 in preparation for the sculpture's first major restoration since it was erected at Allerton Park in Monticello in 1932. Sculpture Sources of Chicago is cleaning and restoring the sculpture and its pedestal on site using dry ice blasting, a cleaning process that involves propelled carbon dioxide pellets. The restoration, which was funded by donors and is expected to take three to six weeks, can be viewed at the work site or online.
