CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Sharon L. Allen, the chairman of the board of Deloitte & Touche USA, one of the nation's leading accounting and consulting firms, will talk about leadership and integrity Thursday (March 30) as the 2006 Leighton Lecturer on Ethics and Leadership at the University of Illinois' College of Business.
The free public talk is to begin at 4:15 p.m. in Rooms B and C, Illini Union, 1401 W. Green, St., Urbana. Her lecture is titled, "Leadership, Integrity and the Changing Business Environment."
Named chairman of Deloitte & Touche in 2003, Allen oversees relationships with a number of large multinational companies and leads the firm's governance process, serving as the U.S. representative of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's governance committee and global risk management committee.
With 30 years of experience, Allen was managing partner of Deloitte & Touche's Pacific Southwest practice prior to her latest position.
As the first woman chairman of a leading accounting firm, Allen has been named one of the "Top 50 Women to Watch" by The Wall Street Journal, one of the "Top 100 Most Influential" in accounting by Accounting Today magazine and an outstanding leader by the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.
