CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks will be observed Sunday (Sept. 11) with a brief concert at Smith Hall on the University of Illinois campus. The U. of I.'s Black Chorus will perform, under the direction of voice professor Ollie Watts Davis.
The concert will begin at 7:46 a.m., coinciding with the time the first hijacked plane struck the World Trade Center in New York City. As is tradition with this annual concert, music - rather than speeches - will be the sole focus.
Sponsored by the School of Music, the concert is free and open to the public, and will take place in the recital hall at 805 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana.
