CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Six University of Illinois students have been given $2,000 scholarships by the Dads Association at Illinois.
A record 139 students applied for the scholarships, which are granted for academic achievement and financial need.
The recipients:
CALUMET CITY - Angelica Ukaigwe, a sophomore in molecular and cellular biology
CARPENTERSVILLE - Dalminia Arias, a junior in community health
CHICAGO (60631) - Anna Maj, a sophomore in pre-elementary education
(60643) - Timothy Lewis, a senior in economics and psychology
(60827) - Apryl Washington, a sophomore in communication
PARK RIDGE - Grace Householder, a sophomore in pre-elementary education
The Dads Association, established in 1922, is believed to be one of the nation's oldest parent organizations. The association supports programs, services and activities that promote the health, safety and well-being of the university community and serves as a parent liaison to the campus.
