Classwork Work by students in graphic design professor John Jennings’ hip-hop image-making class is featured in the exhibition “HIP-HOP EXPRESSIONZ 2,” on view through March 6 at the Illini Union Art Gallery. Jennings said the students’ designs are inspired by hip-hop culture and “the remixing of meaning and the idea of self.” Featured works were created by students enrolled in the course during the fall 2005 and 2006 semesters. A public reception for the artists is scheduled at the gallery from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 20. (Left, digital mixed media image of hip-hop MC B.I.B. by John Jennings)
