Social issues theater group to perform ‘Manifesto’

Inner Voices at Illinois will present “Manifesto,” a performance of intersectional feminist voices of inspiration and intervention, at two locations in March. The performances are free and open to the public, and are in honor of Women’s History Month.

Inner Voices is a social issues theater group that addresses timely and difficult social and health issues through performances followed by dialogues. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in the process of performing social issues theater while earning academic credit through four courses.

“Manifesto” will be performed at the Armory Free Theatre, room 160 at the Armory, 505 E. Armory Ave., Champaign, on March 8-9 at 7 p.m. and on March 10 at 5 and 7 p.m. It will be presented again on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Channing Murray Foundation, 1209 W. Oregon St., Urbana. Both locations are accessible to wheelchairs.

The program is sponsored by the Women’s Resources Center and the Channing Murray Foundation. Inner Voices is sponsored by the Counseling Center and the department of theatre.
