New Faces 2015: Wencui Han

assistant professor in the department of business administration in the College of Business

Education: Ph.D. (management science and systems), University at Buffalo; M.S. (technology management), Polytechnic Institute of New York University; M.S. (management science and engineering) and B.S. (management information system), Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China

Courses teaching: BADM 453, Decision Support Systems and BADM 557, Decision Support and Knowledge Management

Research interests: Han is interested in health informatics, business data analytics, online health communities, and emergency and health care management. 

“Wencui Han recently earned her Ph.D. in management studies from SUNY Buffalo,” said Aric Rindfleisch, the head of the department of business administration. “She is an assistant professor in business administration in our department’s information systems area. Wencui’s research interests focus on the impact of information technology on health care. This is an extremely important topic given the rising costs of health care and our aging population. This topic also is one of our campus’s Visioning Future Excellence priorities.”

Why Illinois? “There are several reasons I have chosen to join the University of Illinois College of Business,” Han said. “I am very impressed with the faculty and the research done here. The culture of technological innovation and collaboration on campus leads to cutting-edge research projects and fruitful results. The support and mentorship of junior faculty also is extremely valuable. I feel very fortunate and proud to be part of this community.”
