Media Advisory: Willard Airport hosts emergency drill Monday

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Emergency responders from federal, state and local agencies will take part in a full-scale emergency exercise at Willard Airport in Savoy on Monday, May 20, beginning at 6 p.m.

The exercise will simulate an actual disaster involving injuries, and passers-by may notice smoke in the vicinity along with the presence of a large number of emergency vehicles and personnel. Signage on Route 45 and Airport Road will alert motorists to the exercise.

The exercise will not affect scheduled air travel.
