Media Advisory: New chancellor introduced Wednesday

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The new chancellor for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will be introduced to the campus community at a public event Wednesday.

Dr. Robert J. Jones, currently the president of the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), will meet community members at 9 a.m. in the Illini Union Ballroom. He will be available for media interviews for a brief period following the event, which is expected to last about 20 minutes.

The hiring was announced today, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.
