“Long Lost” to open June 8 at Krannert Center

Illinois Theatre, the producing entity of the department of theatre at Illinois, announces the 2016 presentation of “The Sullivan Project,” a new-play production curated by Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan. Sullivan is the holder of an endowed Swanlund chair and a theatre professor at Illinois.

“The Sullivan Project” provides leading playwrights with a fully realized production early in a work’s development. “Long Lost,” by Donald Margulies, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Yale School of Drama professor, will be presented for seven days beginning June 8, in Krannert Center’s Studio Theatre.

“Long Lost” focuses on a long-overdue reunion between two middle-aged brothers, David and Billy, who have a complex history and a turbulent relationship. It was developed with the support of Tennessee Repertory Theatre through its Ingram New Works Fellowship.

The Sullivan Project is supported by funding from the Swanlund Endowment, the Anda New Works Theatre Production Endowment Fund, the Dasha Epstein New Production Fund and Friends of Illinois Theatre.

Tickets can be purchased at the Krannert Center Ticket Office, online at KrannertCenter.com, or by calling 217-333-6280 or 800-527-2849.
