Knobloch honored with Charles H. Woolbert Research Award

The National Communication Association announces the selection of Leanne Knobloch, a professor of communication at Illinois, as the 2018 recipient of the Charles H. Woolbert Research Award.

The award is given annually to honor a journal article or book chapter that has stood the test of time and has become a stimulus for new conceptualizations of communication phenomena. Knobloch was recognized for co-writing the article “A model of relational turbulence: The role of intimacy, relational uncertainty, and interference from partners in appraisals of irritations,” published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationship in 2004. Denise Solomon, a professor of communication arts and sciences at Pennsylvania State University, the other co-author of the article, will also be honored.

The award will be presented Nov. 10 at the NCA 104th Annual Convention in Salt Lake City.

The National Communication Association is the largest communication association in the United States. For more information, visit natcom.org.
