Brief: Art tour planned for Holland, Flanders

The School of Art and Design and the Krannert Art Museum are
sponsoring an art tour of Holland and Flanders from June 22 to
July 5.

Art historian and Dutch native Maarten van de Guchte, director of
the Krannert Art Museum, will lead the tour through a study of
drawings, paintings, sculpture, crafts and architecture from Jan
van Eyck to Piet Mondrian. Particular emphasis will be on the
Dutch School, when the bourgeois class became the patron of the
arts, and on Flemish masterworks, seen in the medieval cities of
Bruges and Ghent.

Carol Fisher, coordinator of continuing education in the visual
arts ion the School of Art an Design, is the tour leader.

The cost of the trip is $3,370 per person, based on double
occupancy. The cost includes a $200 donation to the Krannert Art
Museum and the School of Art and Design.

A $300 deposit per person is due Jan. 5, with balance due March 1.
