A revised publication for assistant professors is available from the Research Services Office. "Selected Funding Opportunities for Junior Faculty" contains brief descriptions of more than 200 federal and non-federal sponsors that offer funding programs specifically interested in or encourage application from assistant professors, or that provide seed-grant funding. More complete information on each of the funding programs is available from the Rearch Services Office. The publication contains discipline indices for easy reference to particular fields. All of the funding programs listed are ongoing, and the majority will occur at about the same time in future years, according to Peggy Lowery, director of the office. Sponsor literature generally is not available until about three months before the application deadline of a program. Due to the timing of most of the program deadlines, spring has resulted in the best time to generate this publication, she said. Assistant professors may request a copy of the publication by contacting the Research Services Office at 128 Observatory. The office's telephone number is 333-0284, and its e-mail address is email@example.com.
