History in the making Installation of bleacher seating, concession stands and masonry on the north side of Memorial Stadium are expected to be finished for the Fighting Illini football team’s Sept. 8 game against Western Illinois University. Work will continue throughout the football season, and when the $116 million project is finished in 2008, the university hopes to earn the stadium designation as a National Historic Landmark.
