Having a blast Physics professor Paul Kwiat ignites a balloon filled with hydrogen and oxygen to illustrate that “bringing together diverse elements can lead to very powerful outcomes.” As the faculty keynote speaker at Convocation, Kwiat, a John Bardeen Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, urged new students to try new experiences and to meet people who “don’t look like you or talk like you.”
