CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Lauri Lepik, Estonia’s ambassador to the U.S., will address the “State of the European Union” in a speech Friday (Oct. 20) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Potential topics include the refugee situation in Europe, the status of the U.K.’s process for leaving the EU, and EU relations with the U.S.
Lepik’s address, at 10:30 a.m. on the third floor of the Levis Faculty Center, 919 W. Illinois St., Urbana, is the central event of the 16th annual EU Day on the Illinois campus.
His address will be preceded by a reception at 10 a.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
EU Day, hosted by the European Union Center at the U. of I., provides an opportunity for participants to learn about the EU, its relationship with the U.S. and its role in promoting international relations.
