Mary Buescher McDonald, 87, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Champaign, died April 22 at Good Samaritan Hospice-Marley House in Prescott. She worked at the Motor Performance and Play Research Lab, the Adler Zone Center and the Children’s Research Day Care Center at the university. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at First Presbyterian Church, Champaign. George W. Swenson Jr., 94, of Savoy, Illinois, died Feb. 22 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He was an emeritus professor and chair of the department of electrical and computer engineering and served as professor and interim chair of the department of astronomy. He worked for the university for more than 60 years. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at Savoy Recreational Center, 402 W. Graham Drive, Savoy, Illinois.
