Deaths

John Walker Gray, 85, of Urbana, died May 17. He was a professor of mathematics at the university, retiring as the director of graduate studies.

Barak Rosenshine, 86, of Urbana, died May 22 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was a professor of education at Illinois. Memorials: Steinberg Scholar-in-Residence Fund, CUJF.

Linda A. Scott, 68, of Champaign, died May 6 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She retired from the university in 2005. Memorials: “Read Across America” c/o Urbana Park District, 505 W. Stoughton St., Urbana, IL 61801.

Patricia Ann Tempel, 90, of Ivesdale, Illinois, died May 17 at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, Illinois. She retired from the University of Illinois Press. Memorials: St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Ivesdale Fire Protection District.
