Deaths

Marion Carter, 77, of Bloomington, Illinois, died June 21 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. She worked at the university for many years and was one of the first library computer archivists in the country. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials: Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Franz Kamber, 80, of Mahomet, Illinois, died at home June 13. In 1968, he became a professor of mathematics at the university, retiring in 1994. In 1995, he began serving as a professor emeritus. A memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 708 W. Main St., Urbana.
