Walter H. Franke Jr., 89, of Henderson, Nevada, died July 2. In 1957, he joined the university as an assistant professor at what is now the School of Labor and Employment Relations. He rose to tenured professor in 1968 and became dean of the school in 1981, retiring in 1994. Memorials: the School of Labor and Employment Relations Scholars Fund.
