Deaths

Charles M. Bellatti, 91, of Jacksonville, Florida, died June 30 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin. From 1953-70, he worked in the university’s office of sports information, serving as its director from 1956-70.

Richard Marks Joy, 73, of Champaign, died July 3 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was the editor of the law review at the College of Law. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Illinois, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials: Illinois College.

Sandra Lee “Sandy” Roberts, 73, of Champaign, died July 1 at home. She worked for the university for 43 years, retiring as the facilities manager at Levis Faculty Center. Memorials: Kidney Foundation and the American Diabetes Association.
