Barbara Ann Albin Brown, 78, of Foosland, Illinois, died July 24 at her son’s home in Edmond, Oklahoma. She retired from work at the university. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Bellflower United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Memorials: Bellflower United Methodist Church or the Owl Creek Rebekah Lodge No. 91, P.O. Box 41, Fisher, IL 61843.

Nancy Doris Chumbley, 78, of White Heath, Illinois, died Aug. 6 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She worked as a building service worker at the university for 23 years. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Monticello Cemetery. Memorials: Lodge Church of God in Monticello, Illinois.

Harvey Albert Hermann Jr., 82, of Champaign, died Aug. 4 at Amber Glen Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Urbana. For 32 years, Harvey served on the U. of I. Bands faculty as the woodwind assistant to the director. A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. Memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Memorials: Alzheimer’s Association.

William “Bill” J. Kubitz, of Urbana, died Aug. 5 at Meadowbrook Health Center in Urbana. He joined the faculty of the computer sciences department in 1968 as a professor of electrical engineering, retiring in 2001. He helped develop the first PC labs, was instrumental in networking the entire campus, facilitated the department’s first online course offerings and was a key player in the design and building of the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at McKinley Presbyterian Church in Champaign. Memorials: C-U Symphony Orchestra, 701 Devonshire Drive, C24, Champaign, IL 61820.

Donald Eugene Senn, 75, of Hoopeston, Illinois, died Aug. 6 at his home. He worked for the university’s department of natural resources. Memorials: Iroquois Memorial Hospice, 200 N. Laird Lane, Watseka, IL 60970 or to the Kennekuk County Park, 22296 Henning Road, Danville, IL 61834.
