Deaths

Nancy L. Davis, 85, of Urbana, died Oct. 12 at Meadowbrook Health Center in Urbana. She was employed by the university as a librarian and assistant professor of library administration, retiring in 1991 after 38 years.

The Rev. James “Jim” Patrick Fitzsimmons, 71, of Green Valley, Arizona, formerly of Urbana, died Oct. 9 in Green Valley. He retired in 2001 as facilities manager for the School of Life Sciences. Memorials: St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic, P.O. Box 67, Green Valley, AZ 85622.

Hüseyin Leblebici, 69, of Champaign, died Oct. 5 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was a professor for 38 years in the department of business administration in the College of Business, serving as the head of the department for 10 years and retiring in September 2017. A commemoration of Leblebici will be held at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Business Instructional Facility, Deloitte Auditorium, 515 E. Gregory Drive, Champaign. Melvin Rothbaum, 91, of Bainbridge Island, Washington, formerly of Urbana, died Oct. 7 at The Wyatt House on Bainbridge Island. He served as the director of the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at the university.

Marcia Lynne Siders, 72, of Urbana, died Oct. 15 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She retired from the university after serving as a secretary for more than 30 years, only to return part time until September of 2017. Memorials: Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802.
